Today, the 10th of August 2024, is game 1148 of NYT Wordle. I try to solve this daily and have completed 317 of these over the last couple of years. So here is my Wordle journey for today, which includes my guesses, thought process, some statistics, and, of course, the ANSWER!
I always start my Wordle with 'Trace'. Let's see what that led to:
After the first guess:
⬛⬛⬛🟨🟨
2 yellows. Way too many possibilities, but let's try and work some of them out
✖🅔🅒✖✖
Decoy
Gecko
Decks
Necks
Ok, I know that the last two are plurals, but my vocabulary has run out already, and I can't think of any more words for some reason. I'll go with 'Decks', so that it indicates clearly whether it could be 'Decoy' or 'Gecko', and also because 'K' does accompany 'C' at times. Let's see.
After the second guess:
🟨🟩🟨⬛⬛
Well that eliminates both 'Decoy' and 'Gecko' and I must say that I am not that surprised. It has to be either 🅒🅔✖✖✖ or ✖🅔✖✖🅒. The former seems unlikely to me, can't think of any words with that. The latter could be something like 'Vedic' or 'Medic'. Ok, has to be 'Medic' right? Let's try that
After the third guess:
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
Awesome! This wasn't that difficult to solve, even though the word is not very commonly used. Wordlebot rates my approach fairly high.
An average of 3.7 guesses indicates a middle of the road kind of a difficulty.
Anyway, getting close to my 200th 3/6 now.
See you tomorrow!
