Today, the 22nd of August 2024, is game 1160 of NYT Wordle. I try to solve this daily and have completed 329 of these over the last couple of years. So here is my Wordle journey for today, which includes my guesses, thought process, some statistics, and, of course, the ANSWER!
I always start my Wordle with 'Trace'. Let's see what that led to:
After the first guess:
🟨🟩⬛⬛🟩
Pretty good start. Let's make a possible list of words first with the information I received
✖🅡🅣✖🅔
Seems unlikely
✖🅡✖🅣🅔
Write
Wrote
Brute
Normally, I would look to use and eliminate as many letters from this list as possible with my 2nd guess so that I give myself the best possible chance of getting it in 3. However, I am fairly certain that the answer should be one of these 3 words. If that is true, and if I guess either 'Write' or 'Wrote', and the answer is not the word I guessed, I will still be able to arrive at one possibility for the 3rd guess. Therefore, I guess I will go for 'Write' and hope that my assumptions are correct.
After the second guess:
⬛🟩⬛🟩🟩
Hurts a little when you've made such a good start and had a chance to get a 2/6. But a 3/6 is good too, and the focus should be to not fumble the bag. So as per the previous analysis, the answer should be 'Brute', but I will still take a minute to think of other possible answers.
Nah, has to be 'Brute', and I'm going for it.
After the third guess:
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
I think I played pretty solid, nothing much else I could have done. A 3/6 is always a good return. Wordlebot agrees. 99/99 on skill. Overall, not a very difficult word today.
Also, my analysis was spot on for every process, which is good to see.
Wordle average is 3.248 now! Fantastic!
See you tomorrow!
